Type Alias: AnchorBasis

AnchorBasis = "pinned" | "unpinned" | "self_asserted"

How much stands behind a verified chain's anchor.

  • pinned: the anchor's configuration is signed by a key the caller held in advance. The only unqualified answer.
  • unpinned: the chain holds up to an anchor other than the entity asked about, whose keys were read from its own configuration over TLS.
  • self_asserted: the entity is its own anchor and no key was pinned. Any entity verifies against its own configuration, so this says little more than TLS does.
